HANS MARTIN
My painting biography is short. I dabbled in oils during my university years in the 1960s, when I was working on my Ph.D. degree in physics. I started painting seriously in 2003 and have focused on watercolour.
I am a member of SOYRA, the Society of York Region Artists and of ASK, Arts Society King. I have participated in shows both inside and outside of York Region and have been awarded three first prizes and two honourable mentions. I take group lessons continuously and attend workshops whenever they are available and appropriate.
Now in my eighties, I do not have the time to figure everything out on my own. I do not have a preferred subject matter or style. Pretty well all subjects are of interest and deserve close study and work. The outcomes are never known in advance.
